REDMAGIC 12 Pro: Price, Specs and Who Should Buy It

The REDMAGIC 12 Pro is a gaming phone first and everything else second. REDMAGIC launched it globally on November 3, 2026, with a 185Hz screen that has no notch or hole-punch, an 8,400 mAh battery and a cooling fan you can see through the transparent back.

Under the screen sits the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 chip with a dedicated RedCore R5 gaming chip, up to 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB of storage. Charging is 80W wired and 80W wireless on the global model, down from 120W wired on the China version.

REDMAGIC 12 Pro specs at a glance

From $949 (12GB/256GB) in the US; $1,049 for 16GB/512GB and $1,199 for 16GB/1TB. In other markets the base model starts at $899.

What we like

• 185Hz full screen with no notch or hole-punch
• 8,400 mAh battery with 80W wired and wireless charging
• Built-in 25,500 RPM fan and dual-loop liquid cooling
• Flat transparent back with no camera bump
• Top-tier Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 chip

What could put you off

• Only two rear cameras, with no telephoto zoom
• Global wired charging is 80W, not the China model's 120W
• Heavy at 223 g, and built for games rather than slim everyday use

Who should buy it

It could suit you if you play demanding games, want the smoothest screen available and hate charging mid-session. The fan, bypass charging and huge battery all point the same way: long sessions without heat or low-battery warnings.

Who should skip it

Skip it if photos come first. With just a 50MP main and a 50MP ultrawide and no telephoto, it cannot match a camera-first flagship. Skip it too if you want a light, plain-looking phone: at 223 g with a visible fan, this one is loud by design.
